AGH's 100th anniversary

How the brewery came about

Browar Górniczo-Hutniczy was founded inside Klub Studio, a venue owned by AGH, to mark the 100th anniversary of the AGH University of Krakow.

The invitation to build BGH went out not only to AGH students, alumni, staff and friends, but to everyone drawn to this unusual venture.

Roots

Tradition

The brewery grows out of the cultural roots that tie brewing, mining and the University together — above all the traditional way of celebrating Miner's Day and Metallurgist's Day.

AGH has held these celebrations, in one form or another, since its earliest years.

The collection

Commemorative tankards

Remarkable commemorative tankards have survived to this day, made to order for distinguished guests of the University.

Some of them were put on show during the first Mining and Metallurgy Beer Festival at Klub Studio.
